"Our son was born at 27 weeks"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Maternity care Good Hope Hospital / Paediatrics Heartlands Hospital / Maternity Heartlands Hospital / Paediatrics University Hospital (Coventry) / Maternity

(as a parent/guardian),

I had an awful pregnancy and eventually diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. Due to being severely unwell I had to be transferred from Good Hope Hospital to Coventry University Hospital and our son was delivered by caesarean section at 27 weeks gestation weighing 990 grams.

Aged 2 days old he and I were transferred to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital where they cared for our son in intensive care within their neonatal unit. He spent a total of 109 days in hospital (some time was spent at Good Hope Hospital special care baby unit).

The care he had was second to none and they saved his life on numerous occasions.

Thank you so much for your post about your baby son & the care he received in both of our Neonatal Units. It is nice to hear that the care you received was so good. I will pass your message on to our Nurses & Dr's in both Unit's.

Thanks again
