"top class care for my poorly mum"

About: The James Cook University Hospital

Anything else?

In my opinion this was the best place for my very poorly mum to go, on the 24th August my mum was admitted into James Cook after a massive heart attack and cardiac arrest, within hours my mum had a stent fitted, and spent the next few weeks in intensive care, the level of care she received was unbelieveable. The staff there treat my mum as if she was part of their family, which was a great comfort to myself and my family, we all received so much support from each and every member of staff. My mum spend 5 weeks here and I can honestly not say one bad word at all, can only praise these wonderful people and thank them for doing such a great job at nursing my dear mum.

Good afternoon Thank you for your kind words regarding your mum and the care and treatment she received from The James Cook University Hospital following her heart attack. It is always pleasing to receive words of thanks and I very much appreciate you taking the time to contact us. I shall ensure your comments are forwarded to the members of staff involved in your mum's care, who I am sure will be equally pleased to read them. It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. Please contact the chairman’s office on 01642 854151 or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk Alternatively, you may wish to nominate online at www.southtees.nhs.uk/about/awards/. With best wishes to you and your mum. Yours sincerley Mrs Linda Oliver Patient Experience Co-ordinator
