What could be improved
As an escort of a patient in need of urgent treatment(consultants words), I found a hospital in complete disarray.Patients sat helpless for 3 to 5 hours on corridors in hope of seeing a member of hospital personel, and totally ignored by the staff. Patient's notes lost twice by staff during one afternoon.
Consultants, when eventually seen, expounding their complete dissatisfaction with their lot, before attempting any conversation on the patients condition, and blaming the government for expecting them to see too many patients.
Expressions of concern by consultant, that patient had attended, because any further delay would result in total loss of sight. But then -----
NO ACTION taken by consultant, or apparently case notes recorded by consultant, to enable the urgent action he had outlined. No record of appointment having taken place being available, when consultant's secretary contacted by telephone.
If you have any choice. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL.
