My wife attended ward 4 today and came away with a total loss of confidence in this hospital. We arrive at 8 am and after ashort wait we were taken into a room were a lady went over her details she gave my wife 2 gowns to be worn in theatre after this a doctor came in and she signed a consent form he then ask her where the lump she was having removed was he had her records but did not appear to know from her records where it was. she was sent back to the waiting area carrying the gowns. taking sterile gowns back to a public area does not seem sensible to me. A nurse came and said they where ready for her in theatre and would she put on the gowns my wife asked where the changing room was only to be told they do not have one and she should change in the disable toilets!!!!!! my wife went in to the toilets and changed looking around the floor was dirty and the toilet seat was up and had urine stains on it . Is this the way some one should change to go into a sterile operating theatre . my wife was taken into anesthetic room were a nurse ask if she had had the injection in her groin when she said no the nurse said you were suposed to have one .we do not know what this injection would have been for . My wife had her surgery and went to recovery I collected her at 4 pm no doctor or nurse had been to see her to explain what had been done.
