"I arrived early (9.25am) as requested ..."

About: Rochdale Infirmary

(as the patient),

What could be improved

I arrived early (9.25am) as requested in the letter for an appointment at 9.55. I then had to wait till 10.50 for my 10 min appointment. I had waited 1 hour and 30mins in a waiting room for an appointment that was 55mins late. There were no signs in the dept saying how long waiting times were or whether appointments were going to be late. I am a special needs teacher and find it very difficult to get time off during the day, I feel that the lateness of the appointment was unacceptable and has caused uneccesary discomfort to a number of my students whose routines ahve been disrupted beyond what was neccessary.

Please can hospitals send out realistic appointment times allowing enough time for the number of appointments booked within a session, therfore giving patients realistic waiting times and schedules.

We're sorry to hear about your experience. Staff have worked hard to improve access, and we'll pass these comments on.
