"ENT Experience"

About: Leighton Hospital

Anything else?

I recently had surgery for an ENT problem. The whole experience from the fist out-patient appointment and referral for a CT scan, followed by a referral to the Maxofacial department ( resulting in a minor procedure in the OPD) and then admission for nasal surgery was excellent. The Consultant and his team of medical and nursing staff explained things well and displayed a real sense of caring. I give a special mention to the ENT Scheduler who was so helpful when I needed to phone in to ask questions. This lady was so pleasant and willing to help and had that great quality of being able to put people at their ease and this from someone in an administration role, well done. If I could change anything it would be the walk to theatre in gown/ robe, a minor point in comparison to the great care received!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices. We value and appreciate your feedback as it gives us the opportunity to gauge how patients experience our services. We are pleased that you found your journey excellent and that specific individuals were able to reassure you. Your feedback will be discussed with the relevant teams who are always delighted to hear positive comments. We understand that walking to theatre in your gown and robe can be distressing. We are sorry if you were not offered assistance in a wheelchair or if your dignity was compromised in any way. We hope that you are now on the road to recovery. Delyth Owen and Helen Nutkins, Surgical Matrons
