Over the last 3 months I have suffered from a very nasty abscess in the middle of my back. The has necessitated treatment including assessment by primary care using the 111 system, surgery at Royal Preston Hospital and treatment by my GP. As well as dressing changes and wound cleansing at the Treatment Centres at Ashton and Brookfield clinics - the latter being every day for several weeks decreasing recently to twice weekly, and now once per week.
At all stages of my treatment I was treated promptly, professionally and with good humour, but I want to single out particularly the nurses at the two treatment centres. I have met many of them over the weeks and months and without exception they have been the epitome of what nursing is all about - professional, caring, understanding and in all honesty, really good company. I have nothing but praise with how they managed what at times was a pretty grim event (for them as well as me! ! ), and I would be very grateful if you could pass on my thanks to their supervisors and to the ladies themselves.
It appears the in-thing to have a go at the NHS, of late but my experience has always been of an excellent medical treatment and so I hope this letter comes as encouragement to you and your colleagues for a job very well done.
