Asked for support for my child age 9 with anger issues and obsessive worrying and hand washing. Referred to 2gether FT for psychologist assessment. Experience initially ok, but felt the consultation directed to a preferred outcome which would sit outside of 2gethers services.
Referred to parenting course not available till January a day a week for 18 weeks. Unreadable for working parent. Since offered a few 1-2-1 sessions. What about person centred care for the child, counselling support? It seemed easy to blame the parent in front of the child.
The assessment seemed very biased towards a judgement and opinion, not a great example of listening. The response letter summarising the consultants findings and view of the situation was factually incorrect and does not reflect the complexity of the situation.
I feel very disappointed as though it was an exercise in asking the right questions to prove an outcome which wasn't going to use 2gethers services ... A token signposting, and they have ticked this case as done and the patients needs aren't going to be met.
