I recently had an elective c section due to placenta praevia and stayed in the maternity unit for 2 days. The care me and my baby have received has been faultless from start to finish. The team in theatre were so reassuring and professional they kept us fully informed throughout the procedure. Needless to say I was very nervous about surgery but the team put me at ease and were very attentive. The aftercare we received during recovery was excellent, the midwives on duty were thorough and once again me and my husband were kept fully informed. As my movement was limited due to the surgery I had just undergone, I did require more help than usual looking after my little boy. The night staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble despite it being a busy ward. I was very apprehensive about staying in hospital as I had had 2 pretty negative experiences at sandwell hospital when I had my older 2 children, however I have to say that my stay at Russels hall was a pleasant experience and would like to thank the maternity staff enormously for all the care they provided.
