"HuIl Royal waiting 5 months to see Colorectal..."

Hull Royal Infirmary, Anlaby Rd Hull, is it acceptable to have to wait 5 months for an appointment with Colorectal Surgery on NHS, I did have a previous appointment but a few days before the appointment called me at work & said had to cancel & no other appointment given so had to go back to GP to see if they could speed up a new appointment as would have to wait another 2 months but I have heard nothing. I did have the sense to rebook on the appointment line the next available appointment, as got a letter to say had not booked an appointment yet, really I think I had? should have read sorry we cancelled at such late notice can you rebook a new appointment.They cancelled it days before my appointment was due with no valid reason just sorry have to cancel it ? and now I have another 2 months wait great :( When I called the GP said I was the second one to call that day so not on my own then :(
