"I was admitted through A&E ..."

About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was admitted through A&E on Saturday evening with suspected appendicitis. I was transferred to Ward 14 after midnight and made comfortable. My pain was monitored and I felt I was well cared for. All the staff on the ward were good. My diagnosis took 4 days as I had to wait for a scan. On the fifth day a doctor came to see me to inform me of the outcome of my scan results. I am now waiting to go back as an outpatient.

What could be improved

More communication with what is actually being done to help your medical situation from the doctors. One doctor on the morning round did not know what was going on the nurses from the ward accompanying him knew more.
