I am very disappointed with this bad organised and rude hospital department. I am early in pregnancy and my gp sent me there for a scan. I had my first scan that showed a problem with the placenta so the consultant asked me to go back in week to see if there were any changes. When I got there I was asked by somebody at the reception why I was there (obviously I said that I was there for my second scan), and off she went without explaining anything to me. After half an hour waiting the same nurse who had assisted the consultant a week earlier came to me looking a bit confused and asked me if the appointment was right and also who took it. I was shocked to hear this from her as she gave that appointment. At that point she realised she made the mistake not add my name down on the consultant diary. So she went asking various people around trying to sort the problem. The only option she was able to offer was to wait for the afternoon appointments (my appointment was supposed to be at 10.30 am) and that meant that I was asked to wait over 4 hours as the consultant refused to put me through in her morning shift. I could have been treated better as it was not my fault, I did get there on time and definitely all staff have to manage their appointment better and treat people fairly and and with respect especially in difficult times as a miscarriage!
