"Car Parking system at North Tyneside Hospital"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Anything else?

On a recent appointment I entered car park at 13.19 and left 14.07. I purchased a parking ticket unfortunately I cannot find ticket as once I leave the car park I do not keep parking tickets. I have now received a Parking Charge Notice for £70 stating I have not paid. I am not that stupid not to have paid for a ticket when I could incur a £70 fine. I am not going to appeal as I am not up to it health wise. So will pay the reduced fine of £40 if I pay within 28days.

Dear Liames I was sorry to read about your experience of the new parking system. I understand how frustrated you feel when you state that you had purchased a parking ticket. I am also sorry to hear about your poor health at the moment. It is never in our interests for our patients to feel that they have treated unfairly. If you feel you would like some assistance to look into this matter further, I would be more than happy to see if there is anything that we can do. To help me understand more about the circumstances on the day, please contact me at Joanne.mackintosh@northumbia-healthcare.nhs.uk Best Wishes Jo Jo Mackintosh - Patient Experience Team

Just to update you that the outcome of this. The Trust has made an important change and reached an agreement which will result in the termination of the management contract with Parking Eye on all Northumbria premises.

I hope this provides you with some assurance of our determination to listen and respond to the needs of our patients and the local people we serve.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

With all best wishes,

Annie
