Anything else?
Whilst on holiday in Suffolk in August this year having travelled with sciatica ? my back problems became so severe I attended Ipswich AE dept. I was quickly assessed and examined by a nurse and Doctor who voiced her concerns that I may have Cauda Equina syndrome. Very quickly I was examined by an orthopaedic specialist, who arranged an urgent MRI scan which I had. Whilst having the scan the same specialist was even waiting for the result and even waited for me on completion I went back to AE where he informed me that I would need an urgent spinal Operation I waited a few hours for a bed on the ward and was in the process of being admitted to the Needham Ward when two consultants spoke to me I was then quickly taken to theatre and had an emergency spinal operation . The next day I was allowed to leave hosp. Ipswich even contacted my local hospital to arrange physio and follow up appointments once I was home. I am aware that without this operation being carried out urgently I could have been left with life changing disabilities Throughout my visit and treatment at Ipswich Hosp I was treated with the utmost care and I cannot praise every member of staff I came in contact with enough, each one was superb. I was kept informed throughout ( as was my husband) and consider my self very fortunate that I was treated at Ipswich and not somewhere else. The staff have saved me from life changing disabilities through their professionalism diligence and care
