"cleanliness shock horrer"

About: James Paget University Hospital

Anything else?

as a visitor to this hospital to teat a young girl , I have to say I was disgusted when arriving on the ward to find a person moping the ward floor which I have to say was dirty beyond belief no filthy . When I surjested I wait for her to finish the response was ...... it wont make any difference.......That I do believe to be true as the muddie foot prints Left were not from my shoes! but from the filth in the bucket and on the floor was just being moved about . When are we going to take care of people in our hospitals the only way to prevent infections is cleanliness......Go to spain and see how they do it!

Thank you for your comment. I have followed up with our Head of Support Services. We use micro fibre cloths rather than mop and buckets, so I can only assume this was a one off incident if there had been a spillage. If you are able to contact us direct through our Patient Advice and Liaison Team, we can look at this issue in more detail if we have more of an idea where/when this incident occurred. The PALS team can be contacted on PALS@jpaget.nhs.uk. Thank you. Ann Filby, Head of Communications
