"Diabetic Team at Wycombe Hospital"

About: Wycombe Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

The care I have received from the Diabetes Team over the past 18 years has been second to none.

I became very unwell at work last Friday and had high blood sugar and ketones readings. Despite my best efforts, I was having trouble recovering myself, so I rang the number for the diabetic nurses office. My call was answered by Maureen Rose (secretary) who listened to me whitter on and promised to get a nurse to call me back. Within 5 minutes, Christine Darly had contacted me and talked through my problems. She urged me to go straight to hospital and gave such good advice and I felt very well supported throughout the whole horrible experience.

At all times, from my first conversation with Maureen to my last conversation with Christine, I felt supported and looked after. I called Christine on Monday morning to thank her for her support, and found that she had followed my pathway to find out what had happened to me.

The whole diabetes team are absolute superstars - I do hope that the trust is very proud of them and the service that they give to patients.
