"This is to thank to every single one that we met, for your kindness"

About: Lorn & Islands Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

In late August my husband and I had a car accident near by Oban.

We arrive by ambulance to the emergency board and we passed one night in the hospital. We had nothing, no money, no luggage, no food, no charger for the telephone.

This is to thank to every single one that we met, for your kindness, sympathy and compassion. ALL of you gave a bit of life to our situation of pain and disorientation.

Please, be so kind to disseminate this within the hospital. Please keep doing with your professionalism and kindness, you know very well how to combine it.

Now we are at home. My husband is still not working. He had a slow process with pains and headache. Both of us are working hard with the physiotherapist.

Kind regards, and thank you for caring.

Dear Prints 48

My colleague who covers Argyll & Bute has just emailed me to say she could not access the PO website this afternoon and asked me to reply. What a lovely thing for me to get to acknowledge a posting that headlines "This is to thank to every single one that we met, for your kindness." And we have indeed passed on your kind words.

But it's your closing comment that is so important "Thank you for caring". We are the NHS and it is our job to look after people who need our services and to do so in a caring way. It seems so obvious but we don't always get it right. Getting feed-back and acting on feed-back is really important to help keep us grounded and to help us learn and improve.

So we really appreciate you letting us know how you were cared for. Now as your husband recovers I hope we will continue to rise to the challenge and help get him ready for work.

Thanks for taking the time to feed-back
