About: Medway Maritime Hospital / X-ray and Scans NHS Medway CCG

(as the patient),

GP sent me for an xray. Radiographer told me results would be back with my GP within 7 - 10 days. Phoned GP after 10 days, not back yet. Told the xray dept are moving and there is a slight delay and they are taking about 2 weeks. Phoned after two weeks - still not back. Phoned after 3 weeks still not there. Receptionist told me if it was bad news I would have heard. That isn't the point. I can't move on with a diagnosis until something has been ruled out by xray results.

Please accept our apologies for your delayed test results.

We have had a new computer system installed in the Imaging department and it has not been without its problems, lasting far longer than we expected.

GPs are now receiving the reports electronically within a couple of days and others are being sent them within 7- 10 days.

Any urgent findings are faxed immediately.

Once again please accept our sincere apologies.
