"The new prescription system is very good"

About: Adult community services / Stoma prescription service Rotherham Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as a service user),

I originally had my bowel removed at the Rotherham District General. The whole process should have taken 5 days.

However, it was discovered that during the operation the Stoma bag had been trapped by mistake, and I had to have another operation. I then spent 2 weeks in the high dependency unit. I must say I don’t blame anyone for this, as accidents can occur during operations.

I recently changed to a new prescription service. Now I just ring a number and my prescription is delivered a couple of days later. The new system is very good.

The aftercare I received was very good. Every time I speak to the Stoma staff, the people at the end of the line are very friendly.
