"Trying to get a contraceptive injection"

About: Birmingham and the Black Country

(as the patient),

It took us two vists, two phone calls and 45 minute wait at the surgery for the injection to arrive. The nurse indirectly refused to give my wife the injection first time round, so at the second appointment I went with my wife and she tried the same. When I questioned her, she denied she refusing treatment but recommended she should have it during her period. I told her that was not true, she could have it anytime as long as she is sure she's not pregnant and she agreed.

Then she said the medication would have to be ordered in. She took our home number and mobile and said she call when the injection arrives at the surgery. Guess what? No call. So we rang get given another appointment date.

A few days before appontment, I rang to make sure medicaton would arrive and I was assured by reception staff that it would. We turned up and guess what, no medication. The nurse blamed the chemist. So she phoned the chemist and we had to wait 45 minutes more.
