About: Pendle Community Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The reception staff were very efficient and the Medical staff were very informative and helpful.

What could be improved

I attended the Pendle Community hospital today and as the car park was full I parked at the front of the old health centre. I was approximately 30 minutes and when I returned to my car I had a notice under the windscreen wiper. The notice said

'THIS CAR PARK IS FOR THE SOLE USE OF LANCASHIRE CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST STAFF, SERVICE USERS AND VISITORS.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THIS CAR PARK AGAIN.

YOUR REGISTRATION NUMBER HAS BEEN NOTED, ACTION WILL BE TAKEN IF YOUR VEHICLE IS FOUND HERE AGAIN ACTION WILL BE TAKEN.

As I consider attending a clinic would classify me as a service user I feel the notice was completely unnecessary and also very heavy handed. It might be useful if you sent a tear-off slip at the bottom of appointment letters that could be put on the dashboard which would stop your heavy handed car park attendants upsetting legitimate users of the facilities.

I would like to apologise for the heavy handed ness of the notice, but our Trust is East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust is a Mental Health Trust and they have issued the warning to you. If you contact Lancashire Care directly, and PALS Officer Parvaiz Awan on 01282 474178 he will look into the matter.

Thank you.
