"Care in the A & E Department"

About: East Of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust James Paget University Hospital / Accident and emergency James Paget University Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

In early September, I attended my doctors surgery at Ormesby with chest pains, and after examination, and because I am diabetic with a history of heart problems I was taken to James Paget by Ambulance.

This is where the fantastic care and service started, the ambulance crew, one female and one male got me to hospital with no fuss and on route carried out usual tests and made me feel very relaxed, and may I say without gas and air which was offered.

On arrival at the hospital which was about 06. 20pm they were extremely busy, but not too busy to be again kind and caring.

Blood tests, X ray and Ecg were carried out over the next few hours.

The nursing staff were fantastic along with the doctor who took time out to explain the Ecg in detail as the doctors surgery had also taken one and there was a discrepancy between the two.

The cubicles were clean and all staff without exception were brilliant, Tea was also supplied to my wife and I.

Thank God it was a false alarm and we were on our way home at around 10 pm.

Thank you all.
