Anything else?
I was admitted to the Renal Unit for emergency treatment and had been transferred from Rochdale due to them not having a renal unit anywhere nearer. I was extremely upset at being told I had to stay in hospital as my problem could not be cured by merely taking tablets. I actually tried to discharge myself and was adamant that I could not be treated anywhere else ( not what The Patient Charter says..) I was left with no choice but to stay. I must say that I was treated extremely well and the staff were fantastic. However the ward I was in was on the top floor and so my visitors had to walk up 5 flights of stairs as they couldn't find a lift...very poor service. Also after I had been for surgery I came back onto the ward and shortly afterwards I went to use my mobile phone to let my husband know how I was and the chip had been wiped so I lost all my photos and music and games I had had on it for around 4 years so I was rather angry that no-one had warned me that this would happen.so now I have lost pics of friends and my pet dogs who are no longer with us.
"Very nervous patient accommodated"
