Anything else?
I had an appointment scheduled with the haematology department to discuss family medical history and get a blood test done. When I arrived, I was given all the information I needed to navigate through the Centre for my appointment in a clear, polite, and concise manner. The wait for the appointment was a bit long, around 30 mins behind schedule, but the wait in other places is far longer. The consultant I spoke with was (again) clear, polite, and concise. I then waited 5 minutes for my blood test, and the nurse who conducted it was incredibly lovely. She made sure I was comfortable (I'm needle phobic), let me recover from nerves afterwards by offering me water and talking to me for a few minutes. She especially made sure that I didn't feel faint as I left. All in all, a great experience and example of compassion that many other NHS centres and hospitals should learn from.
