12 days later and I'm home on the Isle of Wight. A huge 'thank you' to the consultant and his surgical team for giving me hope for a very positive life following a devastating diagnosis. The surgical skill and out come is amazing, I am so lucky. The immediate aftercare (thanks) was excellent and all staff on Laverstock were superb treating all patients with dignity, care and respect at all times. Thank you everyone Recommendation - Bay 3 unbearably hot at all times, more fans needed Only one personal complaint but this has been dealt with and hopefully will never occur again

Thank you for your lovely comments. It was so nice to hear that despite your original diagnosis the surgical team have done such a wonderful job and given you so much hope for the future. I know that they will be pleased to hear that their skill and care has had such a positive impact on you and that you are pleased with the outcome. We will pass on your thanks to the team and also to staff on Laverstock Ward who, I'm sure, will also be pleased to hear that the care they gave you and other patients on the ward was excellent. We are conscious that at times this summer some wards have been very hot and we are sorry that this was the case in your particular bay. We have brought in additional fans and increased linen changes to make it more comfortable for our patients and we are looking at ways in which we can monitor and regulate the temperature better across the hospital. Following your comment, we will also check the ventilation unit on the ward to make sure it is working as well as it can be. In terms of the personal complaint that you mentioned we are glad that we were able to resolve this for you. In the meantime, thank you again for your positive comments and best wishes for your continued recovery.
