"Anaphylaxis shock"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency NHS 111 South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

Stung in the neck by a Hornet and immediately reacted to the venom. I have been stung on many occasions by Wasps but never reacted to them before.

My wife called 111 for assistance and they called the ambulance without hesitation.

Received quick treatment by Ambulance personnel and they could not have been more caring.

Admitted to East Surrey A&E at 9pm on a Friday night, I expected the worse based on previous visits but the ward was very clean and a surprisingly calm atmosphere. Admission was very efficient and I was looked after and monitored very well.

Finally recovered and was allowed home at 2pm

Dear Jonhalcyon

Many thanks for taking the time to post your comment and I am glad to hear you have recovered from the hornet sting - it sounded very nasty.

It is lovely to hear you were happy with the care given to you by our staff. If you let me know what ward you were on I will make sure your comments are passed on to the team.

kind regards
