I'm compelled to write this feedback to extol the virtues of the NHS & staff within it who do their upmost to provide, where possible, a service to be proud of. I'm aware of the examples which have circulated recently in the press, appreciating that for some patients/their families, have had some traumatic experiences. I also realize that the NHS is facing/has faced some difficult times. However, I firmly believe that most staff within NHS work in it because they believe in what they do!
My own experience as a result of breaking my wrist, at my local hospital, QMC Nottingham was exceptional; this was over a 36 hour period from A&E, to X Ray, orthopaedics, QTAL, operating theatre & overnight stay on ward. EVERY single member of staff I encountered could not have done more; they provided exceptional health care with a courteousness to match. This was surpassed by ensuring that a 'gluten free' sandwich was available to me post-operative, on the ward as I'd not eaten in 24 hours! !
I'm aware that as part of a large university teaching hospitals group that there is likely to be more funding available which can make a difference.
However, I believe that the NHS as it is needs to be rigorously defended; my experience demonstrating what can be delivered
"A 'Big Thank You'!"
