Suffering with severe inflammation on the mandibula joints for 2 years, I finally couldn't take the agony of eating, speaking, sleeping or waking up with severe symptoms. Being referred by my local GP, I had to wait 1 month for the initial assessment with a doctor to tell me what I already knew (which was a two hour wai by the wayt). 8 months later, no progress has been made. After three "accidental cancellations" and misinformation by the lady on the phone on multiple occasions, I have had one MRI scan. 1 month ago I had the results of those of which the doctor consistently patronised me, even at one stage asking me "where do you want your steroid injection", even though there was clear inflammation in both sides. He even question my honesty wheb discussing pain... he believes there is none. With no enthusiasm, he then told me he would set an appointment for the injections and a referal to a TMJ specialist would be made. 1 month later I have heard nothing, I can no longer work due to the pain and every attempt to get in contact with department has failed. Please avoid this department, it's a complete mess with uncaring staff. I expect more from Salford.
