"Not alot really apart from the ..."

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Not alot really apart from the patient line. Also the day staff in the ward i ws staying in was lovely.

What could be improved

The nurses relationship towards there patients. I felt that i had a lack of dignity, respect, autonomy, choice and the fact that i am 19 i felt that i was treated like a complete idiot, i was told that i wass going to have a number of tests done on me, and i was waiting around for a day to see when these tests where meant to be done, then at 10pm i was told noting was going to be happening, and by then i was transferred to steps. As this was a horrific ordeal i was sobbing my heart out because it was different and i felt extremely vunerable, i understand the hospital is very busy and i do the same line of work. But no one sat down with me and i was crying till the early morning, i was waiting around for someone to talk to me, i was made out to be selfish even though i asked if i could be left in a day room or to walk around the hospital by myself, i asked to go out for a cigarette and even then i was waiting around for an hour and a half. They did not to the observations that they were meant to do, as i was having palpations. The doctors also mentioned that i need to go for further tests, and now i have recieved my letter saying i had no further symptoms, i have returned to my doctor and even my doctor said he is absollutly disgusted. In this experience i am going to bupa seems as i work for them. I cannot fault the day staff on the ward that i was on because they were absoultly lovely, they were fab!.
