About: Salford Royal

Anything else?

I was referred to a consultant in neurosurgery in May of this year by another consultant at aother hospital. I have spoken to the secretary at Salford several times and have had to get the referral sent three times and was then told verbally an appt had been made. I still did not receive a letter and after calling outpatients was told I wasn't even on the list! I have to had to get PALS and the waiting list co-ordinator involved. I have now bene told I have an appt in late October which seems a very long wait after all the inconvenience I have had so far. I hope that when I do eventally see the consutlant or most probably one of their team now that I am treated better. I am not impressed so far.

Many thanks for your feedback. I am aware that you have been in touch with PALS and am pleased to note that the waiting list co-ordinator was able to fit you into an earlier appointment slot following another patient cancelling their appointment. As has been explained to you, the referral was not received by the Trust's Call Centre until week commencing 19th August. The Trust is currently investigating why this has happened and will be liaising with your original consultant's office and the hospital where the referral was originally sent. You will be contacted directly by our Complaints Department to agree a date when you will receive the outcome of this investigation.
