Anything else?
I recently Mid July had a total thyroidectomy at Lister Hospital, the consultants and nurses were all very pleasant and the operation went very well - I spent the night on ward 11B and can't complain about the care that I received. The aftercare was great to when I didn't feel well a few days after I was sent straight up to the ward and was had various tests - I can't thank the Dr who saw me enough - she was a gem! The experience I had was in stark difference to what I had witnessed when my nan was ill and was on the elderly care ward, sadly I felt she was not treated well - so I was apprehensive about spending the at night at Lister. Just one little suggestion - the waiting area for operations on 7B is quite bland and the tv has a huge sign on it saying don't turn it on as it does not work! As you are informed that you can wait hours (up to 10) before your operation, and can't drink or eat then some form of stimulation would be beneficial! The nurse who greeted me on 7B was not very welcoming and she really didn't put you at ease, considering the nervousness of all the patients.
