Anything else?
Having been turned away from Worthing Hospital (the Consultant I saw there tried desperately to get me on the op list but I was turned away due to them being full - although I had a detatched retina requiring urgent surgery). I headed straight to Brighton where I was treated brilliantly from the moment I walked through the door, to the moment I left having undergone the essential surgery. Every single member of staff were polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone put me at ease. The food was amazing too. The doctor and his Registrar are both absolutely wonderful. I cannot thank them enough for what they did for me. They were easy to talk to and had time for all my questions. All the Ward Managers, nurses, porters, everyone, seemed hand picked due to their knoweldge and personality. It was like a happy, friendly, highly trained and experienced team all working together to provide the best possible care. I was looked after brilliantly. As the Pickford Ward became the out of hours A & E overnight, I overheard patients arriving with various problems and from what I heard, the staff treated everyone else arriving just as well as they had treated me. I am now recovering at home. We are lucky to have such a wonderful hospital in Sussex which also knocks spots off Worthing Hospital who let me down terribly. People are too quick to criticise hospitals so I am really keen that people know how fantastic Sussex Eye Hospital is!
