With all the adverse media attention we are hearing regarding the NHS I felt the need to write about the courtesy, consideration and speed of treatment I have experienced over the past 12 weeks.
Upon visiting my GP with a health problem, I was immediately referred for an x-ray which was completed at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, the very same day. From start to finish the procedure took no more than 15 minutes. I was subsequently sent for a CT scan, and again, my visit was very short.
Within a brief period of time I was given a further appointment for a gastroscopy and follow up outpatient appointment with Dr Piotrowicz. I was kept fully informed of procedures and results at all times.
All these procedures happened in quick succession and I must say that I am extremely satisfied with the care and efficiency of all staff (QEQM). All administration and communications regarding appointments etc. , has been faultless.
I have a further outpatient appointment to attend and feel confident that it will be dealt with, with the same efficiency and care.
In conclusion I have nothing but praise for my G. P. , the doctors and their supporting staff at the QEQM. Although my condition may be considered minor, I would still like to thank everyone concerned for their help and consideration in what was a very stressful and anxious period.
A copy of this letter was sent to my GP and all concerned with my care at the hospital.
"My experience at quite a stressful time....."
