"Long wait between meals which is a problem for diabetics"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Diabetic medicine

(as the patient),

The service I received was very good – it couldn’t be better.

I first attended the hospital in 1979. In my most recent visit, everything was very good, especially the doctors.

The only thing I can think to complain about is that there is a long time between meals. This is especially a problem for diabetics such as myself. Evening meals are served at 5: 30pm, and it is not until 9am we are fed again.

Sometimes we can get sandwiches, but we have to ask for these. This causes a problem for anyone with diabetes.

Other than that, I’ve always been treated well and I’ve had two or three major operations at the hospital.

Dear Scented705, thank you for your feedback via Patient Opinion.

Your comments are really helpful in order to help us improve our service. We shall ensure that snacks are more readily available on wards so that patients have easier access to them between evening meal and breakfast.

Thank you again for your posting,

With best wishes,

Kerry
