"treatment at the A&E dept. Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital."

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

In early August, I had a problem with swelling and blood blisters appearing in my mouth and as it was out of hours me and my husband attended A&E at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

At about 6. 30pm although the dept was extremely busy being Friday evening during the holiday period, I was seen almost immediately and rushed through to a busy area. I was attended by an excellent mannered nurses who straight away put me at ease. I only waited about 10 minutes to see the doctor who was very helpful and calm.

He asked for bloods to be taken etc. and explained that I would be monitored closely to be sure that there was no further swelling. Within and hour he had results back had taken a photograph on my phone and explained the best he could that I needed to see ENT dept. soon to see if we could get to the bottom of the problem.

At all times he was lovely, helpful, funny and calm. I did let him burst the blisters for me and he said that he would write to my GP to advise a visit with the ENT.

The attention and care I received on my short visit has reaffirmed that they all so such a brilliant job, professionally and great care and humour and I believe they should be given much more credit.

I have now received my appointment for further investigation and would like to pass on my greatful thanks for all their help that evening.

Well done all of you.

It is helpful to know that you were seen quickly at a busy time and were reassured by the staff in A&E. We wish you well with your on-going treatment.
