I left a negative response about the Charing Cross Urinary/Kidney department which has been unfairly and incorrectly attributed to Charing Cross A & E which I was forced to visit this week. The staff were overwhelmed in part by an ineffective replacement for NHS Direct (111), as well as the inability of patients to get appointments with their GP's in less than a few weeks and an increasing population... All the staff, in Charing Cross A & E were exemplary, professional, informative, helpful and friendly. I received the best treatment possible, there was a short wait, but that was understandable as every bed was in use. I take this opportunity to thank all of the staff for their professionalism and for providing a an NHS medical service is the envy of the world... I am so lucky to have a hospital that provides such a professional service, and saddened at the thought of it being replaced by luxury apartments. Monty Best I
