About: King's Mill Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

following the changes to the smoking policy of the hospital in line with the law i am disgusted to see how many cigarette ends and empty bottles and cans are appearing at the perimiter of the kingsmill site. i work nearby and have to walk past the mansfield road entrances where it is an eyesore. i have witnessed myself members of staff as well as members of the public smoking in the area and drinking coffee/tea from the plastic cups which are then discarded along with the cigarettes. there are no litter bins in place and none of the special cigarette bins. perhaps your managers should walk down to the area and have a look. i would like to know what you are going to do about this as it spoils and otherwise hospital for which the area can be proud.

Smoking is banned anywhere on the hospital site, and unfortunately we have no control about where people smoke when they are off the site.

We do reinforce the message to staff that they should not drop rubbish around the site's perimeter, and it is a criminal offence to litter.
