"It took 10 weeks for me to get an appointment"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

I went to the doctors in May with neck problems. I was prescribed cream to rub on, anti dizziness pills, and he told me he would drop a line to a physio.

In June I recieved a letter from TRAQS (after a phone call offering me an appointment at PRH in late June, or at Maddocks Physio in Madeley for a couple of weeks. I went for Maddocks as I could walk there).

I received a letter from Maddocks in July and went for my first appointment 5 days later, by which time my neck problems were a lot better.

That is almost ten weeks. Why did it take so long? When it takes two minutes to talk from the doctors to the physio.

Thank you for your feedback.

I am sorry to note your frustration at the length of time taken to arrange a physiotherapy appointment. TRAQS is unable to arrange an appointment until a referral is recieved from your GP and it is not clear from your comments whether this is where the delay occcurred. When contacting you to offer you a choice of location and timing, we would have made you aware of any delays at both locations. You obviously chose to be seen at Maddocks because of the convenience of its location but we are aware that there is some delay at that clinic.

Nevertheless, I hope that you are feeling the benefit of your treatment.
