"My therapist was understanding and presented different options to tackle problems"

About: Inclusion Matters Wirral

(as the patient),

My GP advised I speak to an IM therapist when I felt unable to cope with redundancy and unemployment, debt, possible home repossession and physical health conditions.

I was glad to have been seen by a male therapist at IM. I think man to man talking was the best situation for me.

My therapist was understanding and present different options to tackle problems. I did explain that having a job would be the best and only solution to my current problems as life on benefits was totally unbearable, I wasn't eating properly and not managing my diabetes.

From my experience there needs to be links with employment agencies to get people like myself in to work as soon as possible. In the end, the situation which has been caused by the current government and it's attitude towards people on benefits can't be corrected as it stands.

Problems like mine can't be solved with medication and therapy when unemployment is so high and there is little hope fr the millions living on benefits like me.

I'm sure it is a solution for plenty of others though!

Dear Keen

I'm glad you found our input helpful.

We endeavour to support people in the most appropriate way we can and as you say therapy may only be part of a person's solution. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback and I wish you well for the future.
