Anything else?
My husband was taken into A&E with a suspected stroke on Saturday mornng, despite being a weekend he had a head scan and blood tests and saw a competent duty doctor all within 1 1/2 hours of admittance. We were telephoned before 8.30 am on Monday with an appointment at the Stroke Clinic that day; he was given an ultra-sound prior to the appointment with the consultant and the report on that was ready within a few minutes; a most excellent, sympathetic and informative interview with the consultant took place and we were given as much time with him as we needed. We have a telephone number to ring if we have any concerns and feel we have proper contact with specialists if we need them. We have been lucky as although my husband has had a minor stroke he is making a good recovery and the prognosis is excellent, but we could not have had better treatment if we had been paying for it privately. We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff involved.
