The ambulance service was arranged by the GP surgery to take my husband to the Pacemaker Clinic. The surgery advised us to be ready by 12: 00; the ambulance arrived at 1: 30 for a 2: 30 appointment at the Weston General Hospital. I went with my husband as his carer.
When we had finished at the clinic the ambulance was there to bring us back home – we were back by 3: 15.
The ambulance staff were very efficient, courteous and kind. They helped my husband to walk through the house to the back door where it was easier to use the wheelchair. They helped him into the chair and into the ambulance. When we returned home the staff made sure he was settled in his arm chair before they left. They could not have bettered the service they provided.
It’s a shame there isn’t a box in the ambulance for people to make a contribution to the cost of the service. I’d have happily made a contribution.
