"Concerns as to why I wasn't referred to a consultant"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

I damaged my achilles tendon and my GP referred me to urgent physiotherapy which happened very quickly.

I have now had two lots of ultra sound on the tendon, but there are concerns as to why I haven't been seen by a consultant at orthopeadics clinic, or why I wasn't referred there instead of physiotherapy.

Thank you for taking the time to provide TRAQS with your comments.

TRAQS acts on the request of the GP, so if a referral is lodged and requests that a patient is to have a physiotherapy appointment, then that is what we arrange on your behalf. However, if during the course of treatment it is determined by the therapist that they are unable to resolve the problem then they do write to TRAQS requesting that you be referred to a specialist consultant eg:orthopaedic. The question of why you were not referred initialy to a consultant would need to be addressed to your GP.
