"Adult trauma and intensive care"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

Anything else?

My mother was admitted to St Mary's following a brain injury after a road traffic accident. During this very difficult time my mother has received highly skilled medical care but delivered with kindness and consideration. As relatives we have received professional, empathetic and informative care from all the doctors and nurses involved in her treatment. The hold regular family conferences and start each meeting with "what do you know?" to ensure that there is no confusion and that relatives are kept fully informed. The one area of weakness has been in transfer to another hospital where it appears that the receiving hospital were not fully aware of my mother's condition and she has ended up on a gastro ward after suffering a brain injury.
