What I liked

I would like to record my thanks for the high standard of care I received when I was recently an in-patient at Lincoln County Hospital. In particular, I would like to thank my consultant who added me to their Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP) list on Thursday 25 October following my emergency admission earlier that week. They were extremely helpful in undertaking my operation, despite the fact their earlier operations had run over time and they had another appointment pressing. They could clearly see that I was distressed at the possibility of my operation being deferred and rearranged their other commitments to ensure it went ahead.

I felt this was a genuinely patient-centred approach and I was extremely grateful to my consultant for taking the trouble to respond to me on a personal level.

Too often we hear negatives about the NHS, but I can only praise my consultants thoughtfulness and professionalism.
