(as a relative),

I was shocked and disgusted at the apparent lack of care shown by the midwives throughout the labour and birth of our third child. In my opinion, they were the most uncaring people I have ever come across in my entire life. They ignored everything my wife said or requested and basically gave no guidance whatsoever throughout. I would advise that you choose very wisely which hospital you attend for labour and birth. The aftercare was atrocious too. We strongly believe that for various reasons we were discriminated against.

I am deeply disappointed to hear of your poor experience.

It is unacceptable for any mother to feel that the midwives dismissed their concerns and I apologise that this is how your wife was made to feel. This is not the standard of care that I expect.

I have taken your feedback seriously and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your comments in more detail so that I am able to follow up with the individuals concerned.
