Anything else?
My Husband has a fear of hospitals having spent a lot of time in them 20 years ago and he went in for a routine hernia op - I think it was the Winstanley ward (?). I went in with him and the nurse that admitted him into the ward was extremely nice and warm towards us both (I think I was more nervous than my husband!) she explained how the day would go and even tried to bring him higher on the list having explained his nervousness! I left at 9am to go to work, a little upset myself at having to leave and she took me to one side and offered comfort and reassurance, for which I am grateful. One small negative is that she promised to ring me when he was out of the operating theatre but didn't...I can only guess she was very busy at the time and quite probably doing other important things that would take priority over me so it wasn't really an issue. I have to say, I didn't have confidence in the hospital before this day for the simple reason my Dad died there and it was due to complications, hence my own nervousness and doubts when my Husband went in! However, I can honestly say that we were both very happy with the service in this case, which was back in March. ( I didn't know I could leave feedback until today!!) Thanks to all the staff concerned, especially the nurse that attended
"Service with empathy!"
