"Appreciate the patience, care, support and advice"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I attended Highbury for approx 18months as a out-patient to see Dr Flambert, I also attended for 12 months to see Tim Sweeney for C. B. T at psychological Health at Thorneywood.

I have been discharged from both for 8 months now and on reflection I really appreciate the Patience, Care, Support and advice I was given by both. I continue to do well in my role and regularly now use the C. B. T techniques to cope with situations I used to have problems with,

Along with the Head of Involvement (Paul Sanguinazzi), I am responsible for the Trusts two Involvement Centres, and our Volunteering and Befriending Service. I help to report all of the feedback we receive as a Trust to the Board.

Hi Seamus,

It's really wonderful to hear your feedback, and to know what a positive impact Dr Flambert and Tim had in supporting your recovery. It's particularly good to know that 8 months on you are using the CBT techniques Tim taught you to cope with any troublesome situations, and that you are doing so well.

It's clear from all the feedback we receive, not least the hundreds of stories we have on Patient Opinion, that the attitude of our staff makes a big difference. When staff show the wrong attitude, it can be so detrimental but when they support people in the way that Tim and Dr Flambert did with you, it clearly means the world.

I will do everything I can to make sure your feedback reaches them both, and on their behalf thank you so much for sharing it with us.

We wish you all the very best for your continued recovery,

Amy
