Anything else?
Under no Way do I blame the Doctors & Nurses for what happened to me. Iv had 2 stays at Leighton .Once 6 years ago and once 2 weeks ago .First stay was for 7 days and second was for 5 days .What a difference 6 years makes .Last time my stay was amazing Enough Doctors & Nurses to help you & stress free. This time was completely different again I don't blame the staff. Just not enough of them anymore ! On Wed 17 July was sent to hospital from my doctors to have a operation to have a cist removed .As is holding me up on moving onto my next medication. I arrived at hospital at 11.30am I was put in triage ward with just 6 chairs in it.Which happened to be ward I stayed in last time .A Doctor examined me a hour later & told me Surgeon would examine me soon .I told Doctor about my meds and how I needed them .At roughly 17.45pm Surgeon spent less than 30 seconds examining me and just said I am not his department and walked out. Hour later was transferred to a ward and told I was 2nd on list to go to surgery .I again explained about my meds . Told nothing on notes so no. Was woke up at midnight and told not tonight .Also told id be going back to nil by mouth at 2am didn't want food so had cup water .I asked about my meds and was told nothing on Doctor notes again. Had drip changed at 445am.. At 7am nurse checked my bp I asked if I could go for walk .Had my drip undone. Went for walk. When I came back 15 minutes later my drip had gone. My bed is by the window and the sun was directly on me . Several times during the day I asked for my drip to be put on and someone to sort out my meds but all I kept being told was I was nil by mouth . I have been taking meds for several years for long term illness and really needed them .Finally at 15.45pm Id had enough and rang my Specialist at Countess Of Chester hospital and told her I was dehydrated as had no drip all day & was in hot sun & it had been a day and half since id had any of my meds . She had to ring Leighton and tell them to give me my meds and sort my drip out. Which happen .Again I don't blame the staff .I had to wait till Saturday morning for operation .All the time I was waiting for operation nobody told me until midnight each night that had to wait till next day. Which meant I had spent 70 hours waiting in a hospital bed costing a small fortune & time and only another 24hrs really needing the bed to recover from operation There is just not enough qualified Doctors and Nurses on the wards . These managers want to have a good look at what their budget cuts are doing on the wards .I honestly don't know how the Doctors & Nurses get up everyday and go into work and accomplice what they do. I saw a lot worse things happening to other patients but that's up to them if they want to come forward. Not enough of them !
