"incredibly rude and condescending doctor"

About: St Helier Hospital

Anything else?

We went to A&E after seeing two incompetent doctors at the Jubilee medical centre in wallington who failed to diagnose a case of cellulitis. My wife had been getting progressviely worse over the space of two months with no medication or help offered by GP's We saw a very considerate nurse after waiting for one hour but then After waiting for another hour we were seen by a doctor who just made inappropriate jokes and answered all questions we had with sarcasm and rudeness. He said my wife had impetigo. When i asked him what it was. he responded "you have a smart phone dont you? look it up" I was absolutely shocked He prescribed anitbiotics and when i asked if we should be careful of cross infection, he answered "do you believe in god or allah?" the service is an absolute joke I am disgusted at the way we were treated and are forced to endure this nonsense

We're grateful for your review and apologise for the delay in responding to your comments. I am sorry that the A&E doctor was so rude to you which is unacceptable behaviour from any member of staff towards a patient or a relative. To help me to follow up this incident and make sure this doctor understands how upsetting his comments were to you, please can you call our patient advice and liaison team (PALS) on 020 8296 2508 or email pals@esth.nhs.uk. Further information is available on our website at www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk/pals. Thank you for your important feedback. Martin Stockwell Joint Medical Director (St Helier)
