Anything else?
While the nursing staff are very kind their level of care is extrmemly variable. I observed patient alarms being completely ignored while nurses chatted no more than 15 ft away at the nurses station. The other side of that is a nurse going out of her way to help a patient with dementia eat their supper. Food was diabolical and twice my order was lost and no food provided. I was on the cardiac wing and only had options such as cheese and bacon potato bake or beef stew with dumplings, not really heart friendly. The main issue is the lack of consistency in the care from ward to ward which makes it impossible to either recommend or warn future patients on what to expect. However, I must stress that while inconsistent in terms of monitoring patients, checking ivs etc nurses were always cheerful and kind when engaged in face to face activity with patients.
